We are excited to announce that FCS Transmogrifier is now open source! FCS Transmogrifier is a python framework created in the 318 labs to assist with the importing and exporting of assets from Final Cut Server to various formats. The framework works using plug-ins. Currently, plug-ins have been developed to leverage YouTube, XML and BrightCove, although we hope that by open sourcing the solution that more plug-ins will be developed and that we can grow the usefulness of Final Cut Server as a way of interacting with 3rd party solutions. We like to think of this as the transmogrification of Final Cut Server Subscriptions and Responses.FCS Transmogrifier also has ancillary functions for use with Final Cut Server; most notably it can be used to aggregate content in a field, allowing for the implementation of custom history or log fields.
