Duration Metadata Field

The general asset Duration (ASSET_DURATION, custom field) in FCS is preset by Apple to be Timecode based and cannot be changed. When pulling in FCP, QT, and other video files the field works correctly and displays the proper duration of the clip. However, when pulling in audio files (wav, mp3, etc.) the duration field shows nothing - even though the Audio Duration (ITPC Wrapper) field is mapped to the Duration (ASSET_DURATION, custom field) and vice versa under FCS Administration Metadata Map.

All other asset systems I've used show/capture the duration of audio files on import without any issue. FCS apparently does not. Usually these programs are reading from a standard Duration ITPC Wrapper field within the file/asset. I've researched, read the on-line boards, submitted question posts, etc. to no avail. I even followed the prompt of another FCS support board posting to create an additional custom Duration2 field based on Unicode String vs Timecode and map it to Audio Duration (ITPC Wrapper) field, as well as all other duration fields - to no avail.

Bottom line: We need to have audio duration for all audio file types (assets) show in a duration field in FCS.

Does anyone have a solution for this issue?
