|
|
Hi all
I am quite new to the whole SAN thing and am playing with our new system, however I have come up against a simple (i hope) problem. I have renamed one of the client machines connected to the SAN, and I can not get it to re-register using the serial number it came with. I get:
"Error while writing settings(duplicate registration)"
I have trashed the CONFIG files (library/filesystems/xsan/config) on all servers and clients (we are still in test mode, so I haven't lost anything important!) still no luck. I have named the client baack to it's original name....still no joy.
Is there something simple I am doing wrong here....probably.
Any and all suggestions would be great....
kind regards

Try getting rid of the xsan serial number file.
/etc/systemserialnumbers/xsan |

thnx ravan...will give it a whirl.
though do you think this will trash ALL serial numbers in the SAN, or just the machine you do it on?
ciao
