Is there an MCX setting, or plist file I can include in my lab image so users do not get prompted to save the Final Cut Server client application? I've got the application installed in the Applications folder, I don't want it connecting and downloading another copy, then prompting the user to save that app. All this does is confuse people.
Thanks. |

This is on the front page of Xsanity.com:
http://www.xsanity.com/article.php/20091110171231940
The post mentions that the App wants to live on User's Desktops.
If creating this App is a problem for Users because of Permissions, can you use Workgroup Manager to put this App or its parent App on a list of okay'ed Applications for Non-Admin users?
Is that possible with Workgroup Manager? I don't have access to the program so I wouldn't know. |

| I'm trying to make the app behave more like a "real app" for users. I'd like the "save this app to your desktop" prompt to never show up for them. I can control the Applications folder much better than I can control 400+ users' Desktop. |

| Alias or Symlink'ing the Applications Folder version to user Desktops probably wouldn't work... even if it did, particular Users wouldn't have ownership Permissions of the Local file... hmm... |

| As I just added to that other article, the client app does not need to be on the user's Desktop, but it does need to be downloaded by each user since it is individual to their account. |
