I just created some new assets this morning using a watch folder and a copy response to place the files and bring them into the catalog. Once the assets were created, I added metadata to them and then I tried to bring them into a project that I had open. The mouse cursor changes like it's going to add files to the bin in Final cut, but nothing appears. I've tried older assets and they will add to the bin just fine. I thought that maybe I couldn't add them because FCS was still processing the clip proxies, but when I tried one of them that was finished it wouldn't add either. I even tried to view the primary representation of the file, but it won't open in Quicktime player either. I know the files are good because I can open them in player if I navigate to them in the Finder. They have the exact same file permissions as the older files that open fine. Two of the files that won't open were added by subscription, so it can't be a problem with the watcher...
The files are on an Xsan volume that is enabled for edit-in-place.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mario
EDIT: We determined that the problem was that the files themselves were somehow corrupted. Not sure how this happened, or how to fix them, but it hasn't cropped up since. |
