| I have two clients who have updated and are running Xsan file system 2.2 and I have everything else, including the MDCs running 2.1.1. In order to revert the clients to 2.1.1, do I have to do a fresh install? Can I do an archive and install? Or could I just uninstall and delete the package receipt? |

Remove those "updated" computers from the SAN and then uninstall only the Xsan software using Xsan Uninstaller which can be downloaded from Apples' downloads site. Then reinstall the xsan software and add to the xsan.
This is the simplest way !!.

1. Remove the client from the SAN
2. Use the Xsan uninstaller to remove everything (make sure you have the most up to date uninstaller)
2. However, there is a kext you need to remove manually. It's in System/Library/Extensions/AppleXsanFilter.kext. This needs to be deleted manually and if left in it will cause many random disk insertion errors and other strange/obnoxious behavior.
3. Reinstall 2.1.1 with the 2.1.1 updates. |
