|
|
| I am trying to create my own metadata and I want to create a check box. I create the Metadata Field and then I add it to the Metadata Group I am using. I have tried changing the data type to "Boolean" and then selecting from Lookup Values the "True False Choice" and also the "None" option. The former didn't even give me true false values. I then tried using just the "Unicode String" data type and just used the Lookup Values as "Yes No Choice." This works to a degree in that I can select "None" "Yes" or "No" from the drop down box in the metadata tab; however, I would prefer a check box. Any thoughts? |

Wow. It's really not as hard as you're making it. Just make a boolean field, set its category to none.
Then, add it to your group.
It will show up as a checkbox. No need to add a lookup to it.
Adding that field to the Asset Filter group _is_ harder, since you must use a lookup to use a boolean with the Asset Filter group. Create a custom lookup called something like "My True False Choice." Use that lookup instead of the stock one that comes with Final Cut Server. This will allow you to do advanced searches on that boolean or subscribe to that boolean when making metadata subscriptions.
For some reason (and I believe this is a bug in 1.0) the "True False Choice" lookup doesn't contain _any_ choices, and being a stock lookup, cannot be modified to fix it. |

Get Matt Geller's book "Getting Started with Final Cut Server". Read Chapter/Lesson 8.
Short version:
Create metadata fields,
create a metadata group and put the fields in it,
add the group to one or more metadata sets. |

This is a little bit of a different question than my original post, but it is along the same lines.
I have created check boxes but I removed the label and given them all suffixes (I prefer to have the description after the check box). The problem is this, when I remove the label the check box gets out of line with everything else.
For example:
Check box
Any ideas how to get around this? |

This seems to have been changed in v1.1.1. See my post here. |
