I just ran into two MAJOR bugs (if it isn't just me) that I'm certain did not exist in FCSvr 1.1.
First, when I check in a FCP project that pulls in new assets, everything goes into FCSvr as expected, proxies get created, assets exist. When I try to check that project back out on a SAN-connected workstation, FCSvr tries to download all the elements regardless of the workstation's status as Edit-in-place capable. This is totally unworkable when you want to ingest to the SAN and then check the ingest project in as a means of making assets out of all the new clips.
Second, when I check out a project and go to update versions or check it back in, I am prompted to fill in all the metadata again from scratch! This is also totally unacceptable for what I believe are obvious reasons.
Is anyone else seeing these behaviors? I'm at 10.5.5 on both client and server and I'm running the new Java update as well. |

Well, dumb user error on my part. The first one was just an absent Device that I had to recreate after reverting to an old DB and not retracing all my recent steps.
However the second one seems to be something they could improve on by having the Check-in window read in the existing field values before insisting I enter some for the required fields. |
