|
|
Today I was trying to modify some settings in Xsan Admin and it says the Lun order has changed on one of my volumes, forcing me to reinitialize in order to save any changes to the San.
The worst part is that it won't tell me which Volume it's having trouble with so I could at least narrow it down if I have to reformat.
Has anyone come across this before? Any solutions? It's Xsan 1.2 on 10.4.5.
Thanks |

Hm.
I´m not sure, but you should use cvlabel -l > "filename" to save your actual disk - configuration.
Only with this information it´s possible, to restore in a very worst case the actual config.
Maybe this information is useful for you; by myself i´ve never had this problem before. We´re using 1.3 and since 1.1 there was no problem like this.

I had never seen it before either.
Curiously, it seemed to happen right after getting a StorNextFX Windows client up and running on the San. |

We saw it once, after we added drives to create a second LUN on a controller. That renumbered the original LUN, making it unusable in its pool. We ended up popping those drives out until we could rebuild everything. And we don't do that anymore.
There's a function in RAID Admin 1.5 to rebuild the LUN map. This may work.
And you should be able to tell which LUN is affected by looking at the system.log of a client when it boots. _________________ Aaron Freimark
