Hi.

I am setting up a new Xsan environment.

2.2

3 Intel xServes (1 MDC, 1 Backup MDC, and 1 File server)

I have 4 xServe RAID chassis, and each will have 7 x 500GB drives in them, except for one with will have 2 x 250GB drives for Metadata journal)

1 x 24GB switch for metadata

(separate private network w/ OD already setup)

1 SansLogic Fiber switch.

Is there a good setup guide on here to help us out? Thanks.

dear sorry to say but ur setup is having the minimal config components for an XSAN setup......

2 x controllers is good for setup but when the question of downtime comes atleast u should have 3 controller to cut short the downtime....

for that u can use a MacPro also with a OSX server like version but XServe is recommended.....

its better to keep ur DNS and OD separate for a new XSAN environment as the cross platform firewall collision comes in between result in a improper resolution of DNS.

This doesn't make sense. There is nothing wrong with 3 controllers but how does it cut short downtime?
