We're seeing some strange things happening with the private ethernet network. Our Xsan client machines lose connectivity every now and then and have to rebooted several times to come on again. It's only our machines running 10.4.7 that this is happening to, our two machines running 10.4.6 are OK so far (touch wood)

This could be a problem of auto-sensing from the switch.

Try to set the speed and Duplex-Mode on both sides (switch and client) to fixed values; not auto.
