All,
I post this here because its directly related to the final cut Server but it might be related to the XSan we have running.

Essentially, I am trying to create a managed qmaster cluster for distributed transcoding from my FCSrvr. I have 6 mac pros connected over Fibre and a large central XSan.

I have activated the Qmaster Node service on all the client machines and set up one of them to act as the controller.

My issue: whenever I open up QAdministrator and create a cluster, at first all the machines appear in the list of available nodes, but when i select them all to drag them to my new cluster, only 2 machines plus the controller move. The remaining ones then disappear from the list.

My question is this: what gives? Any ideas?

Are you running Compressor 3.5 or are you on Compressor 4?

For anyone who might be interested...I did finally sort out the issue by isolating all Qmaster traffic to the private (SAN) network.
