|
|
Hi,
my XSAN volume's layout is this:
MyVolume
--- DATA_POOL_A
-- LUN_A1
-- LUN_A2
--- DATA_POOL_B
-- LUN_B1
-- LUN_B2
--- METADATA_POOL
-- LUN_MD1
-- LUN_MD2
All storage pools have data with affinities.
I added new chassis (with 2 LUNS: LUN_NEW_B1, LUN_NEW_B2):
MyVolume
--- DATA_POOL_A
-- LUN_A1
-- LUN_A2
--- DATA_POOL_B
-- LUN_B1
-- LUN_B2
--- NEW_DATA_POOL_B
-- LUN_NEW_B1
-- LUN_NEW_B2
--- METADATA_POOL
-- LUN_MD1
-- LUN_MD2
I emptied DATA_POOL_B and I need to remove (forever) DATA_POOL_B from MyVolume.
So my final volume layout will be:
MyVolume
--- DATA_POOL_A
-- LUN_A1
-- LUN_A2
--- NEW_DATA_POOL_B
-- LUN_NEW_B1
-- LUN_NEW_B2
--- METADATA_POOL
-- LUN_MD1
-- LUN_MD2
How to do it correctly ?
Thank you.

| believe it or not, you can't actually remove a storage pool. but you can mark a stripe group (pool) down. by doing this, you will achieve what you want. |

I believe. I did it already as it is described in:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4656?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
(Okay, I naively thought it should be possible :-) )
Thank you.
