Hello fellow Xsanners,
I got certified on Xsan 1.x (whatever the version was) back in 2006.
Veteran Apple systems engineer (OS X server, etc).
Not sure what has changed. I am sure all is the same, probably just more stable, faster, etc.
Very adept at OS X terminal / CL, and bash commands and Xsan tools, cvadmin, etc.
What are some of the most common (or maybe not so common) issues, that the Xsan admin comes across in Xsan 2.3 / Mac OS 10.7x Lion.
For example, I know a common issue back in the day was, the main Xsan server / MDC often times did not have its IP address / hostname matching, using changeip -checkhostname, thus there could be a fundamental networking issue right off the bat.
Assuming the hardware is all set on site (the fibre channel network, ethernet network, Xsan install, MDCs, etc, os x clients, fiber raid cards, etc), and that is big assumption:
What are you seeing: Xsan client crashes (SBB's), clients not connecting or being seen by Xsan admin, permissions issues, speed/performance, file corruptions, etc.?
Perhaps issues with the applications themselves: Final Cut Pro 7 or FCPX
Thanks in advance,

| You missed all the fun in 10.6 with Xsan 2 and now you want to play with 10.7 and the built-in Xsan 2.3 client? |
