Hello guys,

Is it advisable to install Antivirus for Mac on our Xsan servers(MDC) and clients? I just want to scan xsan volumes for viruses. Is it recommended? I haven't tried it and just want to know your opinion on this matter. And for those people who have experiences on antivirus on xsan please do share. Thanks

Never have, never will.

But... I have fixed a couple of clients' Xsan workgroups by simply removing their anti-virus software.

Maybe on the clients if it's totally necessary, but the MDCs shouldn't need it. Once they're built and running, you're not really installing more applications (especially random apps from the internet on them).

Antivirus software causes more problems than it can possibly fix in a well managed mac workgroup.

I guess the exception is if you have windows clients.
