Have a project where I need to add a Qlogic 5802 switch to an existing one, using XPAK cables with some bit of zoning involved, I'm making a checklist of what needs to be done
I hope this makes a checklist for anyone wanting to stack switches in the future, so please feel free to add your comments
- If using new switches, before connecting both to the same ethernet network, make sure the switches have unique IP addresses
- Modify the default Domain ID's to give each switch a unique DomainID
- If using zoning by ID and member port numbers, adjust existing zoning to reflect the new DomainID
- Enable DomainIDLock
- Adjust PrincipalPriority of the switches ( the lower the number the higher the priority )
- Connect the XPAK cables
So, what did I miss ? |
