Hmmm, let me think....
Apple EOL's X-Raid. Active introduces their version.
Apple EOL's X-Serve. Active introduces... ???
I give up. I'm guessing it will fit in a 19" rack and have a fibre connection!

Active Server w/ Innerpool configuration...

Xserve hardware licensed to run Apple Os perhaps. Fingers crossed. With extra pepperoni of course
Any news about a possible extra time for the original one? few days ago I was in the production line in EU and there were many Xserve around being built |

image if Active made a virtualization platform, with true clustering in a 1u server, with light peak to cluster them together.
and you could run OS X Server in it, because Apple invested in them.
But doubt it lol.
it will be a 1u/2u appliance for user who want a SAN but don't trust apple to be around in the large storage market / OS X Server for long? |

As with a lot of people on here, I am 110% sure Apple will not allow the licensing of OS X Server on a non-Apple box.
If it does happen, I will be of course happy that it did, but at the same time, imagine I will also be able to hear Steve Jobs throwing his iPhone at the wall |

I wonder if it'll run FCSvr? Or if it's just going to be a SAN device, not a real server? I hate waiting...
Steve Jobs throwing his iPhone against a wall, wow, that would be funny! |

The suspense will kill me on Monday
6am PST is 2pm GMT, so I will no doubt spend 1:50pm onwards clicking dial on Skype and refresh in Safari. |
