| If you have questions about the developer release of Lion you should ask them on Apple's official forums for developers. |

Don't all the Apple dev layers include NDAs anyway? I just always assume I'm under one with anything Apple, it's easier that way. |

| Does that make it free? Or will each client need to be activated with a serial code as before? |

Yep, I confirmed with one of my little birdies in Apple- Xsan client is included at no additional cost with Lion. $29 buys you the OS and the Xsan client license. $50 buys Lion Server with Xsan Admin license.
Killer.

| I'm glad I sold my AAR business when I did, it seems Apple have taken the axe to resellers before and felt like doing it again this time. |

Actually, Apple's push to new markets is quite a boon to resellers. They just need to think outside the box. _________________ Aaron Freimark

| Well at least this server OS upgrade is going to be cheaper than the last couple. |

I was actually glad to read it growing in this direction. I prefer this over discontinued Xsan. We'll need to readjust not being able to resell 900,- software licenses anymore, but it'll make for a much bigger install base. And how much of this is "It just works" software??? Glad to have had all the training and experience in the last years. It'll give us all the advantage of boasting that to a whole lot of new potential clients.
Now all we need is Thunderbolt storage, and the Thunderbolt protocol to become switchable with the appropriate hardware. |

| this is a good. lowers barriers to purchase for small orgs. makes pricing for products such as activeSAN better because you dont have additional cost for clients |

I don't think this will make Active SAN cheaper. The price for clients is baked into the price of ActiveSAN since you're licensing StorNext clients (Active SAN is a StorNext Controller). |
