We're currently considering buying a Quantum Scalar i40, with LTO6 Drive and 25 Slots
It's to serve as the backup tool for a 40TB SAN installed at post house for a TV production company, producing TV series , shot on Alexa, and need to backup the shot material, as well as the final edited episodes

I'm looking for a backup/archive software that would work with the library and provide easy to use interface for non-technical video editor to be able to backup - retrieve their material

The tool I'm looking for should be able to provide browse-able offline view of the whole library, and when a file is requested, it's loaded off tape
a small NAS/ nearline disk storage is probably going to sit in the middle between the SAN and the library

I'm interested to hear how people with similar workflow manage their archives , what kind of tools do you use

PresSTORE synchronize seems quite interesting, especially with the CatDV integration, but it's in a price point above the budget ( their product configurator gave me a $5000 quote )

Your input is highly appreciated
