Tech details:
Power Mac Dual G5
Mac OS X 10.4.5
Xsan 1.3
ATTO FC-42ES
Redhat Linux ES 4 (MDC)
StorNext 2.7
Brocade Silkworm 4100
IBM DS4500
LUNs - 5, 10, 15
I'm trying to connect a G5 as a client to a StorNext filesystem hosted by a Linux box. I've got serveral Linux and Windows boxes connected just fine, however, the Mac doesn't see any available LUNs, via either the Xsan Admin utility or command line (cvadmin or cvlabel -l).
I have several questions:
1. Does the first LUN need to be 0 for the Mac to see them?
2. Has anyone used a similar (or same) configuration?
3. The Brocade's Health utility sees the Mac as a Gateway instead of a FC Host. Anyone experience this? |

Looks like this was at least one of my issues. Once I made a temporary volume at LUN 0, the others showed up on the Mac. |

Hello,
we?ve had the same problem: G5 and Atto - Card. Maybe it works; but we changed the card to the orginial one (shipped from apple) and solved the problem in that way.
