| We use a FlipFactory in our house for doing a lot of format conversion, and I'm thinking of putting it on our XSan (we are planning on going online in July) When we put FCS in place, does anybody know if we can tell it to throw files to the FlipFactory to handle file formats that Compressor doesn't handle? |

From MattG's post on FCS 4/20/07

your flipfactories are XP, no? you can:
A) make flipfactory OS a client of the Xsan via StorNext FX
B) share a portion of your Xsan via OS X Server using smb/cifs
flipfactory will scavenge network drive (Xsan volume), transcode, and copy to destination.
do it all the time. |
