I'm having problems setting up Production Scan's in the response section of the Administration of Final Cut Server.
The setup:
I have setup a device to be scanned, which is essentially a folder on my XSAN. The Scan Source setting is set to that particular device. I've chosen Media for my metadata set. In the production metadata I've chosen Package, and entered a value of [0] for the Title. This should automate the titles of my productions to be the same as the subfolder it scan's. In the Scan metadata section, I've chose Scan Mode to be full. The Production Depth is 0 and the recursion limit is 0. I've also added the * as a value for the wildcard include filter.
The result:
After the Scan the productions are created and named properly. However, none of the assets that are in the folders are added to the productions. The only assets that are in these folders are quicktimes.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Bill |

Have you solved this issue yet? I have managed to create a scan production that works with standard QT files.
I create a sub folder in the device and add the asset, my scan then picks up the folder and creates a production with the asset associated. If you still have an issue then please feel free to discuss.
NB: I have noticed differences in FCS behaviour - specifically the way in which it handles files - when a device is XSAN as opposed to not. Worth toggling first if the issue has persisted. To toggle, add a Mac URI to the device in the device pane within the Administrator window.

| The recursion limit should be set to 99 (infinite) which will allow the scan to look into all recursive directories for assets. |
