I have 2 metadata controllers and 2 file shares. I am currently running 10.5.6 and want to update to 10.5.7. Is there any recommended way to perform the update? MDCs first? File Shares first?
Thanks. |

- Backup Config files from both MDCs
- Make sure MDC1 is hosting.
- Update MDC2 to 10.5.7 then failover to MDC2
- Make sure everything functions correctly before upgrading MDC1
- Update MDC1 to 10.5.7
- Failover Back to MDC1
- Update all clients to 10.5.7
There are a few things to consider...
-Is 10.5.7 compatible with all your 3rd party apps?
-Do you use any Internal raid cards? Have seen issues with 10.5.7 update and 3rd party raid and e-sata cards.
-File share performance with 10.5.7..?
Backup those config files, and may the force be with you!!! |

| oh its from star wards. Anyway sometimes updating can cause issues with an xsan deployment. That being said. Why do you want to do the update. Just because? |
