Hello,

I'm wondering what version of firmware people are using for any 4 port Apple LSI Logic fibre cards? Mine shows 1.3.23.0, but I've been told there is a 1.3.24.0. How would I find that or change/update that?

Thanks,

Brad

if you even manage to find the updater (which I doubt you will now) DONT use it.

I can't say why, but seriously DO NOT USE IT.

I will tell you there is a specific bug in 1.3.23.0 that's easily fixed in an Xsan environment.

With cards with 1.3.23.0, in rare cases if you have a workstation or server that does NOT have a Startup Disk selected in the Startup Disk Preference Pane, the machine will scan the Fabric for a boot drive at startup causing all kinds of wacky performance issues on the SAN.

Solution, go around and make sure you SET a Startup Disk on all workstations and servers, easy fix.

BTW, this is the only difference in the Firmwares. So as long as you set that Startup Disk you should be fine.
