So, I am running:
Xsan running 2.2
Running Leopard Server 10.5.8
60tbs of storage
Fiber Switch - Cisco Sandbox 5600
Metadata Switch - 3Com 4500
Four NAS-heads hosting different folder structures.

I have multiple users connecting to my Xsan via AFP & every so often on one of my four servers, afp mysteriously turns off & either turns back on its own on or I have to kill "servermgrd," restart server admin & re-add the server. There are no error logs as well. Has anyone ever heard of this or know of any possible solutions/why this happens? Thanks.

Gerard

i have had crashes with AFP for years. I wrote a bash script to check if it crashes and auto restart all services. thats the best I could do. its completely random and there are no logs. have you tried NFS? may be better for what your doing.
