|

For a workflow I'm building were working with productions. Every week there's a new productions called i.e. 'WK 20 - Title'. When an user uploads a FCP-file he can associate the file with the production but somehow linked files in the project aren't automatically added to that production. Is there a way to realize this? The reason I want to do this is that it would make it easier to delete a bunch of old video-assets which aren't being used. I.e. if I would check the project asset for linked videofiles, I only can delete files one at a time using the 'Show master' selection in the menu.
The production association should also be the case when projects are checked-in and already associated with the production and new files are added in the project or files that already are in Final Cut Server but are not associated to the production were the project is in.
Is above possible? |

The assets associated with the FCP project are within the instance of the .fcp asset within FCSvr, double click it and you'll get into everything contained in the project's bin.
These files are organised in the device under a folder with the name of the fcp project. If you want to copy them all to the main device you just need to set it to automate a copy to device on upload. This will then double everything up tho. |

Thanks for the reply JRUK,
My problem has actually nothing to do with the devices an asset is stored on, but i;m looking for a way to automatically associate an asset with a virtual production where the fcp project is also in.
You're right when you say that when you doubleclick on a project you easily can see which assets (as an instance) are used within that project, but let's say you have five video-assets you want to delete because the project is old/completed, you can't easilly delete the five files at once. You first have to right-click and in the submenu click on show master. So I have to delete the files one at a time, which seems a bit time consuming.
I hope above makes my problem clear for everyone. |
