I'm sure i'm missing something here, but i'm at the end of the day and can't think anymore about this SAN--- my clients nodes that appear on the Xsan admin have the status "Xsan file system is not running." I can't remember, or am skipping a step here on how to get this to work properly so the client nodes will be able to mount the selected volumes. any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks-

| still seeing the same problem if i'm set as a client in the xsan admin... clients set as low/medium priority controllers will be able to access the xsan file system... and only after I restarted the acfs. I hope I can figure this- clients set as "controller" doesn't sound like a good solution, but it seems to work- possibly lose bandwidth? |

my Xsan installer (the guy i paid a few thousand to help me set up) told me that this is a bug that Apple is currently working on. defining the client computers as "Client" in Xsan Admin doesnt work like it should. the workaround is to make all the computers "Controller" with a "Low" status. so in my SAN, the Xserve is "High", closest computer is set for "Medium" in case the Xserve goes down, and all the other computers are "Low"
dont know why.
hope this helps.
