Final Cut Server: How to import metadata from external MAMs
Lately I’ve seen more and more people connecting their Final Cut Server systems to other MAMs, and one of the main questions in these “multiple MAMs” environments is how to exchange metadata in between the different systems.
If you want to copy asset metadata from an external MAM into Final Cut Server, this basically includes the following steps:
Both steps would work with or without watch folders, you can e.g. copy new assets into FCSvr as part of a Final Cut Pro project file and let Final Cut Server automatically grab any related XML files after analyzing a file. The real challenge lies in creating the proper XML file.

Connecting Final Cut Server To Archiware PresSTORE
I just published my new set of scripts and a comprehensive documentation, which help you integrating Final Cut Server with Archiware PresSTORE. You can find it here:
The PDF explains how to integrate FCSvr with PresSTORE, how to automatically archive assets right after creation or after e.g. 30 days, etc. I would be interested in getting some feedback if these tools work well for you.
Ah, and did I say it's free?

FCS Transmogrifier Now Open Source
We are excited to announce that FCS Transmogrifier is now open source! FCS Transmogrifier is a python framework created in the 318 labs to assist with the importing and exporting of assets from Final Cut Server to various formats. The framework works using plug-ins. Currently, plug-ins have been developed to leverage YouTube, XML and BrightCove, although we hope that by open sourcing the solution that more plug-ins will be developed and that we can grow the usefulness of Final Cut Server as a way of interacting with 3rd party solutions. We like to think of this as the transmogrification of Final Cut Server Subscriptions and Responses.
FCS Transmogrifier also has ancillary functions for use with Final Cut Server; most notably it can be used to aggregate content in a field, allowing for the implementation of custom history or log fields.
The documentation and source code is now GPL'd and posted at: http://transmogrifier.sourceforge.net
