Apple today announced that the long-awaited Mac Pro will be available TOMORROW. Well, not exactly. It will be available to order starting tomorrow. We learned about base pricing a few weeks ago. Tomorrow we'll learn about pricing on CTO (configure-to-order) options, including 8-core and 12-core, GPUs, 1 TB flash storage, and much more. We'll let you know when we learn when they are shipping. Of course, please post your thoughts and experiences here.
The pricing we know today? 3.7 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM each, 12GB of memory, and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage: $2,999. Same as above with 3.5GHz 6-core processor, dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs with 3GB of VRAM each, 16GB of memory: $3,999.
The press release is after the break.
