Anyone have any more detailed information about these Xsan fixes? I'd like to
know what to look forward to (or avoid).

An issue encountered while saving files in Adobe Photoshop is fixed.

When you rename a volume, the volume won't disappear from Xsan Admin. The
volume config would get changed to XML on the machine performing the
rename, and xsanmgrd wouldn't recognize it. There are still some rough edges,
but life is much better.

HFS+ disk images won't be listed as available LUNs for Xsan Admin.

Running snfsdefrag on a file with diacritical marks in the name won't leave an
un-deletable file.

Fixed an issue on volumes not using Native Extended attributes which would
cause them to not unmount even when not busy.

You can now successfully change just the case of a file's name in place on case-
insensitive volumes. "mv README.txt ReadMe.txt" now changes the file's name.

Since updating to 10.8.5 on servers and workstations, we have had multiple
issues with FinalCut X (10.0.9) crashing and unmounting the XSAN volumes on
workstations. Only a reboot fixes the issue.

Just our experience, YMMV.

We has a problem when copying files with rsync that has also been fixed. The
controller would fail over with error 'OpHangLimitSecs exceeded'. It could be the
same issue that was affecting Photoshop file saves.

Oops.. I meant to type "We had" instead of "We has".

There is a Bug with Multiple Decklink Cards installed in a system, for example in
a Mac Pro or external thunderbolt (Decklink Duo, Quad, or Multiple single
channel cards).

After first installation of the driver decklink in a 10.8.5 client, everything works,
but when you reboot, it looks like it does not recognize the proper order of the
cards, and both input and output goes black.
Very bad for multi-ingestion system mac based

Tested all drivers from 9.7 to 9.7.8 with no results.
The only solution was to reinitialize the workstation to 10.8.4.

Having a metadata controller 10.8.5 with a multi-ingestion system 10.8.4 works
flawlessy.
Editing with Adobe Premiere 6.0.5, no problem so far.
Also ProTools 10.3.7 with Artist Control with EUControl 3.0 no crash to report.
Only, Eucontrol does not start automatically at the login anymore with 10.8.5 (it
does with 10.8.4), and you need to manually place the application in the login
items of the user. And more, the artist control must be off before the EUControl
Agent starts, and powered on later, or it will not be recognized (was working in
10.8.4)
I also confirm the bug related to the refreshing of the finder has been fixed (no
more "refreshfinder" app)

Hope these informations can be of help
